Seachtain na Gaeilge:  13ú-16ú Márta

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Beidh seachtain na Gaeilge ar siúil againn sa scoil an tseachtain seo chugainn . " Beatha teanga í a labhairt" so we are hoping to hear you using every " focal " you've got. Beidh na ranganna ag meascadh i gcomhair cluichí , léitheoireacht agus tráth na gceist. Mar is ghnáth  críochnóimid ar an Déardaoin 16 ù leis an gCéilí Mór sa Teach Ceoil (1-2 a chlog). ( You are welcome to join us for this but only if you are ready to get up and dance with us) Fáilte roimh cheoltóirí freisin!!

Jumble Sale
Yes it's that time of the year again! This year 4th and 5th class are hosting the Jumble Sale as a fundraiser for their Class Trip to the Steiner Greek Olympics.

Staff news

We welcome back Hillary on the 13th of March and say goodbye to Tina.  Best of luck Tina and thank you for sharing your invaluable talent and experiences with us.

We look forward to Orla Cotter joining our staff as principal on 24TH April, after Easter holidays.

Sport

Well done to our 5th & 6th class boys who won the North Clare Basketball Blitz.  It was the 1st round of the Marion Keane Tournament 2017. They beat Scoil Mhainichín NS, Clouna NS, Furglan NS and Doolin NS.

Enrolment

Our Annual Open Evening for Enrolment takes place on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at 7.00pm. This is a great opportunity for families to find out more about our Primary School. Do come along and meet our teachers, tour the school and find out about the unique and increasingly sought-after Steiner approach to education. Anyone interested in attending is asked to book a place by contacting us on 065 707 2814 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Places are limited to ensure a quality experience for those attending. We especially encourage any families thinking about enrolling in our primary school in September 2017 to attend. So please spread the word.

Green Schools/ St Patrick’s Day Parade 17th March

For the St Patricks Day Parade this year our theme will be Bio- diversity.
The children will portray some of the animals

plants and habitats that are in our area. Each classroom has its own theme and as usual parents

are invited to join in. Please make sure you wear colours (or even costumes!) to match your child’s theme.

On the day children are to be ready at school at 2.15pm, ready to leave the school at 2.30pm for the parade which is starting at 3.00pm. Please have costumes in school on Thursday 16th March.

Website launch

The school has been working very hard on our website and social media pages.  We hope to launch the new, improved, MUCH more active site later this month.  Everyone will be notified when it goes live! Watch this space!!

Baking in School

Lots of extra baking goes on in all our classrooms.  Teachers will be asking parents to send in ingredients or cost of ingredients from now on to accommodate this.  This allows us to spend school funding on other important classroom resources and supports.  Teachers will send messages home regarding this.

Thank You

The school would like to thank Barbara O’ Conchuir for being responsible for the schools’ costumes for the past number of years.  It is now time for the baton to be passed on and we are looking for someone else to take on the responsibility for storing the costumes that we have and help out when new costumes are needed.

Barbara has very kindly offered to do a Saturday workshop with parents to show them how to make tunics/capes so that in the future there will be some people with this knowledge and also to produce some new costumes.  If you are interested can you contact her directly on 087 1367731.

        Board of Management Nomination

The BOM would like to thank Joseph Forde for being a member on the BOM for the last year and a half. Joseph was also our Treasurer.  We are now looking for someone to finish out this BOM’s term until 2019.  This member of the board is nominated by the parent body.  Please fill in the nomination form below if you know of someone that would be suitable for this important role and return to Suzanne in the office.
